Reviewing Your Cover

Reviewing Supplementary Insurance

Assessing optional cover carefully before keeping, changing or cancelling it.

Supplementary insurance can add meaningful flexibility, comfort and access, but it should be reviewed with care.

Because acceptance is often linked to health history, decisions around optional cover deserve more attention than a simple premium comparison.

01

Understand what the cover actually provides.

Hospital comfort, alternative medicine, dental or orthodontic benefits, international coverage and prevention benefits can all sit inside supplementary policies.

The value depends on your needs, how often you use the benefits and whether the terms still match your expectations.

02

Avoid accidental loss of options.

Cancelling a supplementary policy may be easy, but getting comparable cover again later may not be.

A review should therefore look at health status, waiting periods, exclusions and future plans before any decision is made.

03

Separate useful cover from outdated cover.

Some benefits remain important for years, while others may no longer justify their cost.

We help clients distinguish between cover that should be protected and cover that can reasonably be adjusted.
